A Womens’ health camp was arranged by J V Gokal Trust, Mathura Foundation in collaboration with Dr. (Mrs) Shobhana Palekar - Natu & her colleagues of Inner Wheel Club
Despite heavy rains 62 girls/women between the age of 15 & 50 years attended the health camp.
Inner Wheel club had total representation of 2 Gynaecologists , 1 Ayurvedic Doctor & 5 office bearers including President & secretary.
The programme started with an informative talk given by Dr. Shobhana Palekar - Natu on the various health issues of women especially related to menstruation- that included frequency of menstruation, when to approach doctors & reason why Haemoglobin falls due to excess bleeding. She also ensured free treatment in her Panvel hospital for those attendees requiring further treatment after examination by giving them her hospital address card. Her colleague then spoke about the need to have balanced food & need for Vitamins including sunshine for Vitamin D.
There were three counters before going for check up- one for registration managed by Mr.Anil Bal,a resident of Chaitanya, nurse from Gokal trust managing sugar check up, weight measurement & another volunteer from Gokal taking readings for BP & Haemoglobin. A case paper was prepared with all these parameters before they entered the doctor's room for examining & counseling. The Doctors then gave prescriptions with medicines which were given to respective patients free of charge.
There was a surprise package from the Inner Wheel club of bed sheets, soap, face powder, and sanitary napkin pad .So all the attendees were very happy with this parting gift.
The logistics was well arranged with 2 Vans ferrying the attending patients to & fro from their respective villages.
Overall it was a very satisfying experience for all including 2 women residents & all Sevikas of Chaitanya.
Chaitanya's Subhash Sogam was the official cameraman and he also did all the running around including arranging the public address system.
